History
Those who know the true history behind the name "Banton Construction" will develop a strong understanding of the vision, drive and determination that truly makes Banton what it is today.
A lifelong resident of Connecticut, Frank Pullano grew up on Banton Street in North Haven. Banton Street was home to a close-knit community that grew up literally right on the banks of the Quinnipiac River. From the 1920s on, the community grew and spread; ultimately totaling more than three dozen structures.
In those days, Banton Street's residents experienced only minor and nuisance flooding of the Quinnipiac River. But by the early 1950s, due to logistical issues with the construction of Interstate 91 and adjoining connectors, the neighborhood became plagued by frequent flooding. By the mid 1970s the situation became increasingly dangerous, eventually forcing the entire community to evacuate their homes and their neighborhood.
Despite the challenges encountered, Banton Street's residents took great pride in their neighborhood, remaining a closely knit community through the years and to this day. So much so that years later; Frank Pullano would name his fledgling construction company as a tribute to the neighborhood.
Banton Construction Company was founded in 1979 and has steadily grown to emerge as a leading general contracting and construction management firm in the Connecticut market. Although the firm has largely expanded since its inception, the company's theme has remained consistent — slow and steady growth over the years and upper management's close involvement in each and every project. The firm values each of its individual projects, subcontractors, employees and clients as critical building block for its future. This practice has ensured a strong record of client satisfaction and overall success throughout the years.
In 2009, Banton Construction celebrated its 30th year in business.
Today, Banton Street exists as Quinnipiac River State Park, which is open to visitors to enjoy bird andwildlife viewing, as well as boating, hunting, fishing and hiking.
